As a parent myself, I understand the ups and downs of raising children.  I do not have a magic wand, or believe that I am a superior parent to others.   I have been blessed to have formal training in a variety of parenting styles.  Parenting sessions involve a collaboration between the therapist and clients, with the goal of improving effective parenting and communication.

Play Therapy

A specialized area of practice for working with younger children.  The language of a child is often defined through their play.  Play Therapy meets a child where they are comfortable, using a language they understand.  Backed by decades of research, Play Therapy is a very effective way for children to work through difficulties..

Individual Counseling

As a  therapist I specialize in women's related issues using an eclectic theoretical framework.  I'm passionate about walking alongside clients on their unique journey.  Embracing their inner strength and empowering them in realizing their full potential for growth, and a more satisfying, peaceful life.

Group therapy is a very effective for children and adults.  Through group interaction clients discover that they are not alone, they support one another, and learn more effective ways of coping.  Upcoming groups include: Mindfulness for Middle Schoolers - perfect for students struggling with anxiety and worry.  A specialized area of practice for working with children.  Parenting Elementary Aged Children - great for parents or guardians raising kids ages 4-11.  Give us a call to see if you would be a good fit for one of our groups.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.  Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR therapy training sessions, clinicians help clients active their natural healing processes.

Trauma Focused CBT

Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment approach shown to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers overcome trauma-related difficulties.  It is designed to reduce negative emotional and behavioral responses following child sexual abuse, domestic violence, traumatic loss, and other traumatic events.  The treatment-based on learning and cognitive theories-addresses distorted belief and attributions related to the abuse and provides a supportive environment in which children are encouraged to talk about their traumatic experience.
